At the end of every year at Westside Church, we go above and beyond and raise some money for some important projects that we believe embody the mission that God has set us on.

This year there are many challenges that we are facing in our city and in the Church. The cost of living is causing many people hardship. Church disruption has left a lot of people wondering where to go to find faith. In the midst of all of that, we want to be a community that responds to the needs around us and turns these challenges into opportunities.

2 Corinthians 8:7,9
“Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us—I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving... You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.” 

1) Winter Care Kits:
High cost of living, food insecurity, and homelessness are realities that more and more people in our city are facing. The need is great and so we want to be a rainy day fund to help people with basics. We are partnering with HATS and Gore Park Outreach to provide care kits that will include some essentials like winter hats, socks, gloves, hand/foot warmers, and gift cards. We also want to collect and distribute 1,000 pairs of adult socks with the help of our Kids and Youth Ministries, but everyone is invited to participate! Drop donations off on Sundays.

2) Westside Burlington:
Over the last 3 years around the world and in our BIC family, there has been a significant amount of church disruption. People are looking and longing for a safe place to find faith in the midst of the storms of life. Many have found Westside Church to be that kind of community, and we want to help launch Westside Burlington to be that kind of church as well. There are many expenses as we launch this endeavour in a new space so we want to fund start-up costs like tech equipment, ministry materials, and construction of the new space. 

3) Hamilton Building Upgrades:
Our building in Hamilton is an amazing tool that allows us to do ministry in so many ways. Whether that’s our Sunday morning services, Kids’ programming, Alpha Courses, or Youth Group, we use this building to facilitate loving our community in practical ways. Our building needs some upgrades including addressing our leaking roof because when it rains outside, it’s raining inside too!

Christmas Fund Financial Breakdown:

• Winter Care Kits: $20,000
• Westside Burlington: $50,000
• Hamilton Building Upgrades: $30,000

Our total financial goal is to raise $100,000
before December 31, 2023.
